Gary Moore " The loner " 정말 유명한 분이지만...사실 내가 이분에 대해 아는것이라고는 아일랜드 출신이라는것과 얼마전 세상을 떠나셨다는 두가지 이다. 많은 곡을 접해보진 않았지만, 블루지한 면에 좀더 무게가 있는 곡들을 많이 연주하신다는 생각이다. 소개해드리는 곡인 "The loner"는 요즘 연습하는 곡인데 슬프면서도..흔히 말하는 "서정적"이란 단어에 어울리는 연주를 들려준다. 덕분에 여러 테크닉을 익히고..여러모로 배울게 많은 곡이다.ㅎ Ref. RUSH " 거장 " 이란 단어는 이런 분들에게 붙여야 하는 수식어라 생각하네요. 캐나다가 태생인 RUSH는 Geddy Lee(Bass + synd + vocal ), Alex Lifeson (guitar ) , Neil Peart (drum ) 의 3인조 라인업으로 30년이상 지속되어온 밴드입니다. 이 분들의 이름은 고등학교때 국내에서 제법 인지도 있는 " dream theater" 에게 많은 영향을 주었다고 하여 말 그대로 이름만 기억이 났었는데;; 올해초 Tom sawyer 곡을 인연으로 한 3개월 줄창 들었던 기억이 나네요. 그때 당시 사운드라고는 믿기지 않을 정도의 음악을 들려주십니다. 도대체 3명이서 이런 사운드를?? 의아해 하며 본 live에서는 게디리형님의 매우 바쁜(;;) 연주와 보컬로 인해 고개.. IRON MAIDEN " FLIGHT 666 " 대학원 오고 나서 주로 멜스메를 듣고있는데 최근에 다시 메이든 형님들의 음악에 빠져있다. 메이든을 처음 알게된건 고등학교 때였나... 싶다. 당시 주다스 프리스트에 흠뻑 빠져있던 나는 주다스와 더불어 NWOBHM의 양대 산맥이라고 하는 이유만으로 무작정 이어폰을 귀에 꽂았다. best of the beast로 입문을 했는데...첫 느낌은... 주다스보다 뭐랄까... 귀에 잘 들어오지 않았다. 2 minutes to midnight정도만 필이오는 정도랄까.. 앨범 자켓도 왠지 공포감을 자극하기 보다는 코믹 좀비영화느낌이랄까.. 약간의 유치함까지 느껴질 정도였으니... 그러나 지금에 와서 나의 소장 앨범에는 형님들의 음반이 적지 않게 자리잡고 있다. 주옥같은 명곡들이 왜 그 베스트 앨범에는 없었는지 모르겠다..
